Welcome to RefreshForce for Windows 2000/XP!
=================================================================================

Please read the accompanying EULA.txt file, as it contains your license
agreement.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INTRO

This program is a UNIVERSAL and PERMANENT fix for the Windows 2000/XP refresh
rate problem (whereas games run at lower refresh rates than possible, thus
causing headaches, eye strain etc.). It works with ANY monitor (including the
Plug & Play ones), and ANY graphics card!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QUICK START

This program runs direct from the .exe, no installation required!

1) The program, at the start, should detect the monitor you are using, but it may
not get the right one, so check the combo box's contents just in case!

2) You should now get a prompt saying that you have not customized any modes. So,
select your display adapter and let the program fill the table for you.

3) You may now adjust the frequencies/resolutions if you wish, by double-clicking
on the appropriate cell in the table. Please note, that if you create a mode
that Windows does not like, that resolution will be disabled for use by that
graphics card. Generally accepted, working, display frequencies are as
   follows: 60, 72, 75, 85, 100, 120, 160 and 200. *Never* set your monitor
above what it is documented to handle. If you do, you may damage it
permanently! For added safety, never set a resolution's frequency above
what RefreshForce detected it to be the first time you ran it. If you're not
sure, restore the monitor's backup, and start over.

4) Click Apply when you are finished, and enjoy!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PROBLEMS

1) Computer booting in corrupt mode: I'm afraid you're going to have to reboot
   your PC in safe mode:
i ) Hold F8 when your computer starts.
ii ) Boot into Safe Mode.
iii ) Log on as an Administrator if necessary.
   iv ) Run RefreshForce.
v ) Select your monitor and click 'Restore original settings'.
   vi ) Reboot.
If you do not understand any of this, I advise you switch off your PC &
monitor, and get a computer knowledgable person to help you.

2) RefreshForce did not have any effect: Check the combo box. Sometimes the
system holds duplicates of some monitors. In this case, you will have to find
the one that works! (It's usually the last one of it's kind.)

3) Other problems: Check the FAQ.txt file that should be in the same directory as
this. That may provide you with a solution!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WARNINGS/NOTICES

Restore your monitor's backup settings BEFORE physically changing your monitor,
otherwise you MAY damage your new monitor in the event of a frequency being sent
to it that it was not designed to cope with. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I really hope this little program makes your gaming pleasure that bit smoother,
and don't forget, it's FREEWARE, so give it to anyone you want!
